Miss Ima Hogg, philanthropist and donor of the property, envisioned Winedale as a "laboratory for college students to explore many fields associated with the history and culture of ethnic groups who migrated to Texas." Winedale offers a tangible link to the Texas past through its architecture and decorative arts collections, as well as the documented histories of its buildings, owners, and occupants. Over the last decade, the Briscoe Center has funded and managed a number of major projects to preserve the historic buildings and other facilities at Winedale. The center is grateful for the advocacy and fundraising of the Friends of Winedale.
